Puerto Sherry and Freedom Boat Club: A New Era of Boating Membership in the Bay of Cadiz
El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) 22 de Enero de 2026.-
The nautical landscape in the Bay of Cadiz is undergoing a major shift. During the renowned Boot Düsseldorf 2026 trade fair, Puerto Sherry officially signed a strategic partnership with Freedom Boat Club Spain. This collaboration reinforces our marina’s status as a leading nautical hub in Southern Europe while providing a seamless way for enthusiasts to access the sea without the burdens of boat ownership.
An Official Base for Boating in El Puerto de Santa María
Through this agreement, signed by Mariluz Rivero (Commercial Director) and Nicolás Figueras (General Manager of Puerto Sherry), our marina becomes the official headquarters for Freedom Boat Club in the province of Cadiz.
This model allows sea lovers to enjoy recreational vessels in Cadiz through a flexible membership system. The goal is straightforward: to eliminate traditional barriers to entry in the maritime world, allowing users to sail without worrying about maintenance, insurance, or mooring fees.
The Advantages of Boat Membership on the Costa de la Luz
Freedom Boat Club is the world’s largest boat club, with over 400 international locations. By choosing Puerto Sherry as its strategic base in the Bay of Cadiz, members gain access to:
- Premium Fleet: Modern, well-maintained, and fully equipped boats.
- Training & Safety: Professional technical assistance and on-water training included.
- Global Reciprocity: The unique ability to sail from any of the club’s bases worldwide.
“This alliance opens Puerto Sherry to new audiences, focusing on innovation and sustainability within El Puerto de Santa María,” states Nicolás Figueras.
Boosting Nautical Tourism in Cadiz
This partnership not only benefits individual sailors but also serves as an economic driver for key surrounding areas such as Jerez de la Frontera, Rota, San Fernando, and Chiclana. By attracting high-profile visitors and promoting year-round maritime activity, Puerto Sherry solidifies its role as the most vibrant nautical ecosystem on the Costa de la Luz.
