Puerto Sherry is located in the cove of Aculadero, between the Santa Catalina point of the Port and the western dock of the Guadalete River. The approach to this port arriving from the west should be done leaving the Buoy of Bajo El Quemado on the port side. When we approach it, we will set Rv:105º through which we will sail 5.6 miles ahead to the Cardinal N mark of La Galera. Subsequently, we will leave by Er the red beacon of Las Cabezuelas. Once in La Galera we will have the inlet of the port at Rv: 088º and at 1.96 Miles. From the Strait we will look for the Punta del S buoy which is located to the W of the San Sebastian Lighthouse in Cádiz.
From this beacon of Castillete Cardinal W, setting Rv: 030º and at 2.07 Miles we will be at the green beacon of Los Cochinos, which with nº1 marks the main entrance channel to Cádiz. When being at Los Cochinos, we will order Rv: 064º and, sailing 3.43 Miles, we will be in the inlet leaving by Er the buoy of the Diamante. From this position you will visualize the control tower of the Port, which has a waiting dock near the Control Tower, which can be seen when entering the inlet on your port side.
The access to the province of Cádiz by car will be by the A-4 highway.
To reach the city of El Puerto, you will have to take the detour to the National Highway 4 and at the end of Avenida de la Libertad, you will reach your destination.
At the entrance of the city center of El Puerto de Santa María is located the train station with long distance connections (ALVIA).
To access Puerto Sherry from the train station you have two options; rent a car or take a taxi. Whether you rent a car or take a taxi, the journey will take about 10 minutes.
However, within a radius of 200 km we have 3 more airports: Seville airport at 120 km, Gibraltar airport at 130 km and Malaga airport at 230 km.
If you feel like taking a pleasant walk from the city center, enjoying magnificent views of the beach, the best option is to walk.
The walk takes approximately 40 minutes. From Avenida de la Bajamar, you just have to follow the course of the water marked by the Guadalete River and, once you reach the end of the promenade, leave the beach of La Puntilla on your left.
Another interesting option and that also allows us to enjoy the scenery is to make the same route by bike, arriving in about 10-15 minutes from the city center.
