Puerto Sherry renews its sponsorship to the athlete Pilar Lamadrid
The Andalusian Olympian, ten times Spanish champion, is already looking ahead to Los Angeles 2028.
March 5, 2025 – Less than a year after its last agreement, Puerto Sherry has announced the renewal of its sponsorship of Olympian Pilar Lamadrid. The windsurfer, who represented Spain in the iQFOil class at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and has just won her tenth national title in the Andalusian Olympic Week, receives the news as an important boost for her new Olympic campaign. The collaboration between Lamadrid and Puerto Sherry, initiated in 2018, has been key in her development as an elite athlete, supporting her evolution from the first steps of her professional career.
Valle de la Riva, president of Puerto Sherry, has highlighted the satisfaction of renewing this sponsorship with the athlete, not only for her talent and high competitive level, but also for the values she embodies. “For Puerto Sherry, it is an honor to continue supporting an athlete like Pilar, who represents joy, professionalism, effort and perseverance, principles that we share and promote. Her dedication and commitment reflect the essence of Puerto Sherry, and we are delighted to continue accompanying her in her career.”
For her part, Pilar Lamadrid has expressed her joy and gratitude for continuing to have the support of Puerto Sherry, which she considers her home and a fundamental pillar in her career since her beginnings on the Olympic board. For the windsurfer, “it is an honor to represent what for me is the best marina in the world in every competition”. She also emphasizes her commitment to continue transmitting the values of hard work, perseverance, respect and passion for the sea, which she fully shares with Puerto Sherry.
Since Pilar Lamadrid decided to focus entirely on her sporting career, the sponsorship of Puerto Sherry has been key to her evolution. Thanks to this support, she was able to compete in the RS:X class and be part of the Olympic team as sparring partner of Blanca Manchón. In 2020, Puerto Sherry’s backing allowed her to acquire her first iQFOil equipment and stand out in her first international regatta, achieving a place in the pre-Olympic team and her qualification for the Paris 2024 Games.
Lamadrid is currently focused on her preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, competing in the international iQFOil circuit. Her next event will be the iQFOil Games Cadiz, to be held March 10-14 in the waters of the Bay of Cadiz, at ‘home’.
