30 Sep Puerto Sherry and Discakids embark for families with children with disabilities
More than 90 people and 30 boats will participate this Sunday in the solidarity event ‘A Day to Disconnect at Sea’.
El Puerto de Santa María, 30th September 2024 – Puerto Sherry and Discakids, the support platform for families with children with physical disabilities, are organising this coming Sunday 6th October the solidarity day ‘A day to disconnect in the sea’, an initiative whose aim is to offer a day of rest and entertainment to families with children with disabilities, providing a space for coexistence and wellbeing in contact with the sea.
Thanks to the collaboration of several users of Puerto Sherry and other neighbouring ports, who have not hesitated to make their boats available for the event, families with children with reduced mobility will be able to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the waters of the Bay of Cadiz. Success precedes this activity which will embark a total of 95 people on thirty boats.
There will also be an exhibition area with information stands from various organisations offering services and products for people with disabilities, facilitating access to resources and solutions. The day will end with a free lunch, designed to encourage conviviality, the exchange of experiences and the creation of bonds in an atmosphere of mutual support.
The CN Puerto Sherry and the Fundación Vela Clásica de España collaborate in the development of this day which also counts on the solidarity and sponsorship of the firms Permobil, Ortopedia San Dionisio, Ortopedia Gerardo León Gelci, Smink, Karma Mobility, S.L., Goframa Home, S.L., Rehagirona y Establecimientos ortopédicos Prim, S.A.
‘This event is an opportunity for families of children with disabilities to enjoy a carefree day in a friendly and natural environment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our users for their collaboration. We hope it will be an unforgettable experience for all participants,’ says Nicolás Figueras, general manager of Puerto Sherry.
