The Clipper Race for the first time in Spain
The boats taking part in the prestigious Clipper Race round the world regatta are due to arrive in Puerto Sherry between the 9th and 12th September, the only stop in Spain for the toughest and most inclusive sailing race on the planet.
After leaving the port of Portsmouth in the UK on 3 September, the fleet is currently sailing 1,200 nautical miles towards the south of Spain to make its first stop in Puerto Sherry, a new destination on the Clipper Race circuit, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to Punta del Este in Uruguay. Puerto Sherry will then become the epicentre of world sailing and the venue for a sporting event of social, touristic and economic importance for the host city and province.
The one-week stopover in Puerto Sherry will also be a unique opportunity for visitors to discover the beauty, culture and hospitality of the region.
