29th June 2024 – After the race that put an end to the VII Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry, on the afternoon of Saturday 29th June the trophies were awarded to the winners, in a ceremony held in the Salón Columbus of the Puerto Sherry Hotel, presided over by Valle de la Riva as President of the Puerto Sherry Sailing Club, accompanied by the Vice President and Commodore of the Club, Jorge Flethes and Daniel Martínez, respectively, and Nicolás Figueras, General Manager of Puerto Sherry.

The ceremony was attended by Matías Sánchez, CEO of Grupo Omega, Juan Mateo of Grupo Caballero and Eduardo Lacave, director of Gipsy, representing the sponsoring companies, and on behalf of the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María, Marta Rodríguez López de Medrano, councillor for Infrastructures and Urban Maintenance; Leonor Caballero Lacave, councillor responsible for the Area of Territorial Planning; Pedro Serrano, coordinator of the Area of Territorial Planning and Infrastructure and Alejandro Galán, coordinator of the Sports Delegation.

All the winners took to the stage to receive the well-deserved tribute from all those present, with the greatest ovation for the brand new champion of the VII Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry, Memorial Pedro Bores, Segundo de Pablos’ boat ‘Seventy Senda Azul’, who received the Junta de Andalucía trophy for first place from Valle de la Riva, and the crew of the 15 Metros ‘The Lady Anne’ for their participation. The event was conducted by the CN Puerto Sherry Classic Sailing Vocal, Álvaro González Camacho.

The VII Semana Clásica de Puerto Sherry, Memorial Pedro Bores, which ends today in Cadiz waters, has been organised by the Club Náutico Puerto Sherry and the Fundación Vela Clásica de España, with the main sponsorship of the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación de Cádiz, the Marina Puerto de Santa María, and the firms Grupo Cuñado and Grupo Omega, together with Gipsy Blu 1927 and Bodegas Miguel Domecq – Entrechuelos, endorsed by the RFEV and the FAV, Marina Puerto de Santa María, and the companies Grupo Cuñado and Grupo Omega, together with Gipsy Blu 1927 and Bodegas Miguel Domecq – Entrechuelos, the endorsement of the RFEV and the FAV, and the collaboration of the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María as an asset of the summer of El Puerto de Santa María.
