Solidarity shines at the Zambomba in Puerto Sherry for the DANA in Valencia

The event doubled the expected number of attendees and raised 3,500 euros.

El Puerto de Santa María, 29th November 2024. The Zambomba Solidarity organised by Puerto Sherry for the benefit of those affected by the DANA in Valencia, managed to bring together 300 people – 230 adults and 50 children – in an event full of music, joy and hope that doubled the expected number of attendees. Thanks to the joint effort and solidarity of the people of Cádiz, a total of 3,500 euros was raised, which will go entirely to support the affected families through the Red Cross.

In addition to the generosity of the attendees, the charity Zambomba came to demonstrate that collaboration between different sectors can make a difference in times of need. Puerto Sherry is deeply grateful to all those who participated and contributed to making this event a success, showing that togetherness can become a source of hope for those who need it most.

Juan Ruiz-Herrera, president of the Local Assembly of the Red Cross in El Puerto de Santa María, expressed his gratitude to all those involved:

‘Music, joy and solidarity came together in the Zambomba to bring a little warmth to those who have lost everything. Thanks to the initiative of Nicolás Figueras, a Valencian at heart who wanted to help his homeland, and the commitment of Isabel Silvela, the whole team of the Hotel Puerto Sherry and the Red Cross volunteers, we have managed to create a meeting place where music and solidarity have gone hand in hand for such a beautiful purpose. With this event, we show that together we are stronger and that we can make a difference’.

For her part, Araceli Venegas Flor, Babypar’s event director, highlighted the importance of the event and the enthusiasm of the little ones:

‘The Zambomba Solidaria por Valencia, organised by Puerto Sherry, was a very special event, especially for the cause that supports the families who have been affected by the DANA. We were delighted to offer activities for the children and to see how much fun they had. The solidarity of El Puerto de Santa María has been very important, and we are proud to have been part of this initiative. We thank the organisers for having counted on us’.
