Puerto Sherry works steadily towards excellence

The marina continues with the adaptation and improvement of its facilities.

El Puerto de Santa María, 16 May 2024 – Puerto Sherry continues to carry out optimisation and expansion works on its facilities and services, in order to continue improving the quality, safety and comfort for users and customers, fulfilling the commitment acquired in this new and ambitious stage.

In this sense, some of the actions carried out in recent months stand out, such as the change of piles in the port, which aims to continue improving the safety and stability of the port facilities. Of the 17 units initially planned, a total of 20 have been replaced, as part of a project that is being carried out in phases with annual maintenance.

Also, despite the fact that the recent – and necessary – rains have slowed down the process, the replacement of the timbers of the pontoons for access to the boats is still underway, and the forecasts for completing this important improvement to the port’s facilities are being maintained.

During the month of March, an exhaustive cleaning of the breakwaters was carried out throughout the port, taking advantage of the highest tidal coefficients of the month. Furthermore, next Saturday 1st June, in collaboration with the Marine Watchers Network, the first cleaning of the seabed will take place, thus contributing to the preservation of the marine environment. Dredging will also begin in the coming weeks to remove around 15,000 cubic metres of sand.

Maintenance work has also been carried out in the port gardens, including pruning of palm trees along the entire length of the road, to ensure a pleasant and well-kept environment for residents and visitors.

And as part of the control and security plan for the sports facilities, new street lights have been installed in the area of the new facilities of the Puerto Sherry Yacht Club on the asphalt beach of the marina. With the installation of a dozen LED lamps, the aim is not only to improve the lighting, but also to achieve significant energy and economic savings throughout the area.

All these improvements represent Puerto Sherry’s commitment to excellence in port management and the satisfaction of its users and visitors. The aim is to strengthen Puerto Sherry’s position as one of the most outstanding nautical destinations in the port network.
