The CN Puerto Sherry pays tribute to Pilar Lamadrid a few weeks before her participation in the Olympic Games.

La regata que enfrenta a joyas del Mar se celebra entre los días 26 y 30 de junio en aguas de la bahía de Cádiz

The children of the Sailing School and the regatta teams of the CN Puerto Sherry, together with the Club’s staff, dedicated this Saturday an emotional tribute to the windsurfer Pilar Lamadrid, who will take the name of the club to Marseille, where in a few weeks the Olympic Games will be held, where Lamadrid will be the Spanish representative in the iQFOil class.

During the ceremony, which was also attended by family and friends of the Andalusian Olympian, she was presented with a picture of herself, highlighting the effort of the athlete and the recognition of her club for having reached such a high level, “The result is not demanding, what is demanding is the effort and you already have the gold”. A replica of the painting, signed by her, is already on the walls of the new CN Puerto Sherry facilities on the asphalt beach of the marina.

A few days before travelling to the French town – the iQFOil class will hold its trials between 28 July and 7 August – all those present joined in wishing the Olympian the best of luck.
